DAHA (More)
Gaza is a 14-year-old boy who helps his domineering father smuggle refugees from war-torn countries to Europe, giving them temporary lodgings and scant food until they attempt the crossing. Gaza dreams of escaping this life, but can’t help being drawn into a dark world of immorality, exploitation and human suffering. Can you avoid becoming a monster when you’ve been raised by one? Daha is Onur Saylak’s first feature film as a director. We love Onur’s performances as Veli in Çarpışma and as Tekin in Hatirla Gönül. With 6 nominations and 5 wins, we hope this directorial début paves the way for more. The cast includes Ahmet Mümtaz Taylan (Organize Isler II, Halka, Hayat Şarkısı), Onur’s then-wife Tuba (Cesur ve Guzel), Uğur Aslan (Asli’s cop brother in Siyah Beyaz Ask), and Kağan Uluca (Nihat in Şeref Meselesi).
